What is SOMA breath?
SOMA Breath is more than a breathwork practice—it’s a transformative journey.
Combining ancient yogic practices with modern science, SOMA Breath focuses on rhythmic breathing, breath retention, and sound to improve physical, mental, and emotional health.
The program offers a clear structure, beginning with foundational techniques in the 5-Day Breath Work Challenge and progressing toward instructor certification.
How the SOMA Breath training is structured

One of the things I appreciated about the SOMA Breath program is how thoughtfully it’s designed. From the moment I enrolled, I was guided step-by-step through the training, making it easy to understand what comes next and how to progress.
The program is structured in levels, each building upon the previous one. Here’s a glimpse of the progression:
• SOMA Breath Works Challenge (1A): The entry point to explore foundational techniques.
• Level 1: Instructor Training (1B): Learning how to guide a SOMA Breath Daily Dose session and completing a live assessment.
• Level 2: Advanced Instructor Training: Diving deeper into guiding SOMA Awakening Breathwork sessions.
• Master Instructor Training: Shadowing mentors and leading your own 21-Day Awakening Journeys.
• Transformational Coach: Gaining tools to create personalized protocols and help clients achieve their goals.
• Master Transformational Coach: Expanding expertise with additional case studies and advanced certifications.
Each level must be completed in sequence, which I find helpful because it ensures a solid foundation before moving to more advanced practices.

My experience with the SOMA Breathworks challenge (Level 1A)

Starting with the 5-Day Breathworks Challenge was an eye-opening experience.
Each day introduced me to a new dimension of breathwork, helping me reconnect with myself and explore places within me that I hadn’t accessed before.
Over time, as I incorporated the daily routine of breath exercises, I began noticing tangible changes—not just in how I felt emotionally, but also in my physical capacity. I found myself able to hold my breath with more awareness and control.
The daily exercises, paired with the science and guidance provided, created a perfect balance of practice and understanding.
Insights from my mentorship Calls
One aspect of the SOMA Breath program I’ve truly appreciated is the mentorship. After completing the 5-Day Challenge, I had my second mentorship call, where my mentor walked me through the next steps for Level 1B.
The guidance provided clarity and reassurance, breaking down the modules and highlighting what to focus on.
Even though I haven’t completed Level 1B yet, having this support gave me the confidence to move forward.
The mentor explained the process of preparing for the live session assessment, shared valuable tips for the assessment, and emphasized key areas of the course that require special attention.
It felt like having a personal roadmap, which made the journey feel less overwhelming.

Looking ahead
While I’m still in the middle of Level 1B, preparing for my live assessment and completing the modules, I can already see how this training is shaping my perspective and skills.
My next steps will involve guiding my first breathwork session for my mentor and integrating everything I’ve learned into a real-life experience.
