Sophie and Jess love serving the readers with compelling content because inspiring people is in their DNA: Sophie grew up being influenced by her loving mother and grandmother, who surrounded her childhood with books and magazines to feed her soul.
Jess knew that he always wanted to help and give back on a bigger scale than the small french village he grew up in. And Kiko, well, she is just a genius creator, talented art director, who sees the world upside down.

The Our Genesis
Over two decades ago, Sophie Parienti and Jess Gabler envisioned a space where the local community could unite in their passion for the nascent yoga lifestyle.
At a time when yoga and holistic wellness were niche interests, they founded YOGI TIMES—a modest 12-page, bi-colored newsletter.
Created with the collaboration of their community and the artistic touch of their dear friend, Kiko Tabuchi, it aimed to democratize knowledge about a conscious lifestyle.
The Evolution
From those humble beginnings, YOGI TIMES transformed. Balancing multiple jobs to sustain their dream, Sophie and Jess expanded from Los Angeles to San Francisco, publishing vibrant editions for over seven years.
By 2010, what started as a tactile newsletter evolved into an expansive online media platform with 13 city-specific guides.
Our journey, filled with challenges and learning, has been enriched by the extraordinary individuals they’ve met along the way.

Bringing people together seems to be an ethos for Sophie Parienti. After earning her BA in Art History at the University of Bordeaux, France, she pursued an interest in Media and Communication with a Public Relations Certificate at UCLA.
Since spending time in the states in the 90s, she has delved deeply into the world of holistic health and yoga philosophy.

Jean-Christophe Gabler, a native of France, embarked on a transformative journey when he relocated to Los Angeles in 1993. Initially pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, he unearthed his innate talents for both finance and creativity during his involvement in the development of YOGI TIMES.
The practice of yoga marked a pivotal juncture in his life, providing the clarity and purpose he had long sought. After a profound 10-day Vipassana meditation course, Jesse wholeheartedly embraced the publishing realm, driven by a fervent desire to share the joys of yoga, well-being, and sustainability with a global audience.
As the International Publisher and Co-founder of YOGI TIMES, Jesse adeptly oversees the YOGI TIMES Lifestyle Media Group, steering it towards future growth. Beyond his role as a publisher, Jesse is dedicated to his family and maintains a fervent commitment to his dual passions: tennis and yoga.
