The instructions on transitioning into the pose are tailored for different levels, with a particular focus on beginners.
For example, in Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Dr Sumit Sharma emphasizes various essential details to check students’ postures. It includes aspects like hip joint alignment, relaxed shoulders, engaged elbows and fingers, gaze options, side fascia stretching, and appropriate use of props.
Specific guidance is provided for beginners. For instance, they are advised to maintain a stance approximately three feet apart. Dr. Sharma teaches how to observe their students closely.
One of the common mistakes is that the hips are not aligned. So, if one side’s hip
is tight, he suggests placing the same side leg slightly backwards, a technique that has proven to be detailed, helpful, and new for me.
The guidance for intermediate practitioners is somewhat different.
They are encouraged to lift their big toes to enhance the stretch. Utilizing the wall or props can help activate muscles, ultimately improving proprioception—an essential yoga aspect connecting the brain and body.

As with any online course, you will get out of it what you put into it.
I recommend blocking out at least two to three hours several days a week to focus on the course to enable you to flow through an asana practice, meditate, and then spend some time in an Asana Lab or concentrate on philosophy.
This course includes such a varied wealth of information that you can choose your adventure daily. I recommend familiarizing yourself with some yogic texts, particularly Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
You will follow the philosophy lectures with much more ease if you already know some of the key points within these texts.

Each lesson felt like a conversation with a mentor who guided me through the complexities of learning safe alignment for bio-individuality, confidently integrating Vedic philosophy into a class, a fresh perspective on embracing the nuances of breathwork practices and meditation, and even how to approach walking the true path of a teacher.
Dr. Sharma, Shobhit, and Sandeep are inspirational teachers who illuminate the path with their hearts and souls and share a naturally flowing wealth of wisdom.
With more than 35 hours of recorded asana practice videos included in the course, as well as in- depth demonstration videos on each asana individually, you will experience growth in each pose through repetition and observation.
Quantitative Measurements
If a full-time commitment is possible, a minimum of 21 days (241
classes) is required to complete the Siddhi Yoga course.

Impact on Teaching Practice
Dr. Sharma’s background and depth of knowledge of the human body add immense value to the course. His insights into physiology and how it relates to teaching and practising yoga are invaluable.
You will not find a course with more specific information on the intricate
workings of the human body about asana, the nervous system, the musculoskeletal system, and more.
The depth of information on each pose can uniquely evolve your relationship with the posture.
For example, the detailed lab on Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) allowed me to finally understand how to move correctly from the thoracic spine and avoid compression in my lower back.
I have always struggled with this pose, and no one else had ever explained or demonstrated it in a way that caused me to have the moment of clarity I finally had here.
Dr. Sharma explains all pose variations from beginner to the most advanced in simple, understandable terms.
Pros and Cons
This course does dive into some advanced Asana practice. Even as a seasoned practitioner of over 15 years, I was met with some poses in their yoga flows that are beyond my practice.
I have an old cervical spine injury that takes a lot of inversions out of the equation for me. I
stayed attuned to Shobhit’s instruction even when I could not physically follow him.
A great teacher can still safely guide students into poses they do not practice when they deeply understand the asana and the body and how to develop that relationship with the student.
With the addition of Dr. Sharma’s wisdom in the Asana Labs, you will feel equipped to move through more advanced poses and teach them safely and with confidence.
I work primarily with private clients, and this course has given me an entirely new toolkit for guiding my students through the best variations of poses to meet their individual needs.
I was particularly impressed by the sections on pranayama with Sandeep, which, in essence, requires you to calm your mind and be wholly present to receive his talks.
