the source of all abundance
accessing the field of pure potentiality
What do you truly, deeply desire? Perhaps you are dreaming of a new career, more money or more time with your family. Maybe your heart longs for a romantic relationship or the chance to express your creativity.
Now ask yourself, “Why do I want what I want?” Although the number of desires you can have is infinite, you will see that the ultimate goal of all your intentions is happiness and fulfillment.
When you seek a great job, a better relationship or material abundance, the underlying desire is happiness. The mistake so many people make is not seeking happiness first. If they did, everything else would follow.
True abundance is knowing that your essential nature is pure consciousness.
Beyond the disguises of the ego-mind and the physical body, you are pure awareness, pure joy and pure potentiality. This understanding is the source of all abundance.
When you know that you are an inseparable part of the field of all possibilities, you can easily fulfill your desires. You no longer worry about money””getting it, losing it or not having enough””because you know the supply is inexhaustible. The Vedic sages understood our infinite nature thousands of years ago:
I am the immeasurable potential of all that was, is and will be, and my desires are like seeds left in the ground: They wait for the right season and then spontaneously manifest into beautiful flowers and mighty trees, into enchanted gardens and majestic forests.
Meditation is the most powerful tool we have for connecting to our unbounded nature and the field of all possibilities. Meditation allows us to transcend the mind’s internal chatter and enter the silence of pure awareness. It is only in this stillness that we can experience our connection to the field of pure potentiality and our ability to manifest our desires with effortless ease.
The Chopra Center for Wellbeing in Carlsbad teaches “Primordial Sound Meditation,” a natural, easy meditation.
There are certified instructors practicing this technique throughout the world, and many people can explore it right in their own hometown. Another powerful meditation technique is called the “So Hum Meditation,” and you can try it right now.
so hum meditation
Choose a place where you will not be disturbed. Sit in a chair or on the floor, using blankets and pillows to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
1. Close your eyes, and for a few minutes observe the inflow and outflow of your breath.
2. Now take a slow, deep breath through your nose, while thinking or silently repeating the word “so.”
3. Then, slowly exhale through your nose, while silently repeating the word “hum.” Continue to allow your breath to flow easily, silently repeating “so”¦hum” with each inflow and outflow of the breath. Whenever your attention drifts””to thoughts in your mind, sounds in the environment or sensations in your body””gently return to your breath, silently repeating “so”¦hum.”
4. Do this process for twenty to thirty minutes. Just breathe easily and effortlessly, with out trying to concentrate. When the time is up, sit with your eyes closed for a few minutes before going about your usual activities.
