Little k
Located in Ubud, above The Yoga Barn yoga studio, Little K's exotic, romantic, and low-key ambiance, along with very friendly staff, attracts all kind of customers.
From the local expats checking their emails over a cup of freshly brewed Chai, to the savvy mindful travelers in search of a tropical but healthy culinary experience over the rice paddies, Little K seems to have what it takes to please them all. Simple wooden furniture made from a local company creates a very natural setting and a non-invasive feeling to the nature surrounding the Little K.
American born owner, yogi, mother, and savvy business woman Megan Pappenheim (Co-founder of The Yoga Barn) striked once again with this Little K, (sister café to The Kafe, also in Ubud), offering a little haven of peace and comfort, and the perfect after-class hang out.
Little K brings an innovative cuisine, with a strong focus on healthy eating, freshly prepared dishes which are mainly raw-vegan with a few cooked foods on the menu still. Committed to an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle, Meghan’s vision is to use as few imported produce as possible, making her a great support to the local farmers. Mainly organic (whenever available), the menu is composed of an array of mouth watering items, such as raw tacos, ravioli, mini-pizza to name a few but does not limit itself to raw food, and presents a few delicious cooked foods as well (wheat free pasta, soups, etc…)
Whilst at the Little K, browse through their large selection of smoothies, fresh juices, wheat grass, cooling Ayurveda drinks and teas, and if you happen to be there around the afternoon snack time, take a dive into the sweets… raw chocolate mousse, raw carrot cake, key lime pie, all made of avocado, cashew, sesame seed, dates, and more…Yummy!
They have plans to double the size of their ktichen so that they have more capacity to serve their growing number of guests. There will be a dedicated juice bar, raw chocolate selections, drinks to go and snacks for sale. The new kitchen will still be selling the menu foods (there may be a few exceptions that will move off the menu) and it will include a daily special or two.
Before your leave, take a moment to walk around, select your next favorite yoga classes or workshops at The Yoga Barn studio (just above), or book yourself into an Ayurvedic consultation at Kush, The Yoga Barn’s signature Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Center, all of which are there to keep you on the healthy path.
Little K is closed on Monday days, although on Monday evenings they offer buffet dinners to support their movie nights. (remember to dress with long sleeves if you come for diner unless mosquitoes are your friends).
