Meredith Hines Redding, MA, LMFT, is a Los Angeles-based psychotherapist, yoga and meditation teacher, writer, activist, and proud puppy mama. She specializes in working with anxiety, trauma, creativity, and spirituality. Meredith sees clients in private practice at The Transpersonal Counseling Center and used to teach yoga at YogaWorks Pacific Palisades (now closed), as well as in treatment centers throughout Los Angeles.
Therapeutic Approach
Meredith believes in therapy as a powerful tool for healing, self-discovery, and transformation. Her approach integrates traditional psychotherapy with mindfulness, yoga, and transpersonal psychology to help clients deepen self-awareness, heal past wounds, and lead lives of creativity, authenticity, and meaning. She provides a compassionate and holistic space for clients to explore their inner worlds and cultivate greater resilience.
Activism & Advocacy
On a broader level, Meredith is committed to social justice and human rights. She is an active supporter of
Women for Women International, an organization that empowers women survivors of war, and volunteers with
The Program for Torture Victims, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting immigrant survivors of torture seeking asylum in the U.S.
Interconnection & Philosophy
Inspired by Joseph Campbell’s retelling of the Indian folklore
Net of Indra, Meredith embraces the belief that everything in the universe is interconnected. The net of Indra is described as "a net of gems, where at every crossing of one thread over another there is a gem reflecting all the other reflective gems." This metaphor serves as a guiding principle in her work—reminding her that individual healing is intrinsically linked to collective well-being.
A Vision for the Future
Meredith envisions a world with:
- More compassion, less fear.
- More imagination, less fundamentalism.
- More art, less Botox.
- More organic food, no famine.
- More reverence, less boredom.
- More service, less greed.
- More trees, fewer cars.
- More connection, less loneliness.
- More poetry, less reality television.
- More hope, less cynicism.
- More love, less shame.
- More love, less fear.
How to Create Change
Meredith believes that meaningful change begins within. Whether through therapy, yoga, meditation, or personal reflection, she encourages individuals to cultivate inner peace, clarity, and self-honesty. When enough people heal and transform their inner landscapes, the external world will follow.
A Call to Action
As a global citizen, Meredith urges awareness and action in response to urgent humanitarian crises. She highlights the famine in the Horn of Africa, where children are dying of starvation with minimal media coverage. Supporting organizations like
UNICEF USA can make a tangible difference—just $10 can feed a child for 10 days.
Personal Inspiration
Meredith finds inspiration in music that envisions a better world. Her essential songs for the future include:
- "Imagine" – John Lennon
- "Change" – Tracy Chapman
