Kathryn Budig is a renowned yoga instructor, author, and creator of the popular yoga website House of Phoenix. Kathryn (she/her) is well-known for her approachability, humor, and inventive teaching methods, all of which she uses to empower her pupils and readers.
Education and Training
The Kansas native earned a B.A. in English Literature as well as a B.A. in Theatre from Virginia University before relocating to Los Angeles to study yoga under Maty Ezraty & Chuck Miller at Yogaworks.
Career Highlights
With nearly two decades under her belt, Budig has written for Yoga Journal, The New Potato, and MindBodyGreen, in addition to serving as the yoga editor for Women's Health magazine for five years, contributing recipes, and sitting on the Yahoo Health Advisory Board. She also participated as a sportswoman in Under Armour's "I WILL WHAT I WANT" campaign.
Publications and Contributions
She wrote the best-selling book "Aim True" and the accompanying yoga video "Aim True," and contributed to "The Women’s Health Big Book of Yoga." She has published "Strange Beasts" by Susan J. Morris, and the upcoming "Local Heavens" by K.M. Fajardo.
Personal Projects
Away from the mat, Budig is the founder of The Inky Phoenix book club, and acquiring editor of the Inky Phoenix Press under Bindery Books.
Personal Life
She resides in Charleston, SC, with her wife Kate Fagan, and their rescue pup, Ragnar.
