Jennifer Meek

The embodiment coach helping you come home to yourself

Jennifer Meek is not your typical coach, she’s the compassionate, dog-loving, former dancer turned trauma-informed embodiment educator who’s spent two decades guiding others back into their bodies, gently, powerfully, and with deep respect for each unique story. Based in Oakland, CA, Jennifer is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Embodiment Coach, and Somatic Dance Instructor whose mission is clear, to help people transform their relationship with their bodies so they can live more authentic, joyful, and grounded lives.

From dancer to deep listener, Jennifer’s path to presence

Before yoga mats and mindfulness mantras, Jennifer’s stage was the dance floor. As a professional contemporary dancer, she was constantly chasing peak physical form, until one savasana moment changed everything. For the first time, she felt at home in her skin. No judgment, no performance, just peace. That spark ignited a lifelong dedication to embodiment and healing. Today, she blends that lived experience with over 20 years of teaching, 6 years of coaching, and specialized work with incarcerated youth, chronic pain sufferers, trauma survivors, and anyone navigating the messy, beautiful path of self-connection.

Her method, your medicine

Jennifer’s approach combines yoga therapy, somatic movement, and dance with a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens. Her signature programs include 1:1 coaching, group embodiment journeys, and her fan-favorite: intuitive body inquiry practices that help her clients shift from "stuck in their head" to "soft in their body." She holds certifications from the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Niroga Institute, and received her Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy certificate in 2022. Her offerings are as evidence-backed as they are heart-led.

Real humans, real healing

Her testimonials say it all, from shy beginners finding confidence on the mat, to injured athletes rehabbing their way back to wellness, to anxious professionals reconnecting with breath and stillness. She’s known for holding safe, non-judgmental space and meeting people where they are. One heart-melting moment? Her rescue dog sensing a student’s sadness and curling up next to her in class, proof that healing is deeply intuitive, and Jennifer invites that kind of tenderness into every session.

What makes her different? Choice, not control

Unlike traditional yoga where you're told what to do, Jennifer’s trauma-informed method gives clients the autonomy to feel into their own choices. It’s not about perfect poses, it’s about tuning in, listening deeply, and choosing what feels nourishing. With Jen, you don’t just stretch your body, you stretch your sense of self.

The embodiment revolution, one nervous system at a time

Whether you're juggling work, caregiving, burnout, or simply seeking peace, Jennifer offers more than techniques, she offers transformation. You’ll learn to work with your body, not against it. To reconnect, re-regulate, and reimagine what’s possible when you trust your own internal guidance system. Ready to stop living from the neck up and reconnect with your innate body wisdom? Jen’s free 15-minute discovery call is just the beginning of coming home.
