Agnes Cheuk

Yoga teacher and founder of Yoga IN School.

From corporate life to yoga advocacy

Yoga has directed the course of Agnes’s life, moving her from long hours in a commercial workplace to founding a yoga community project, Yoga IN School. Her own practice restored the balance between work and life that her career had worn away, and that experience shaped what she wanted to build next. For YOGI TIMES, she wrote about using yoga to manage asthma, drawing on specific breathing techniques and postures that can help open the chest and calm the respiratory system during a flare-up.

Bringing yoga to school children

Yoga IN School exists to share yoga with school children, helping them find a healthier balance between study and self-development from an early age. That same instinct to make yoga practical and accessible for people managing a real physical or mental load, whether that’s a demanding job, a chronic condition like asthma, or the stress of school, runs through both her advocacy work and her writing, connecting the two projects more closely than they might first appear, both rooted in the same belief that yoga should meet people exactly where their actual daily struggles already are, not somewhere more idealized.
