Hari Mulukutla

Biography

Hari Mulukutla is a dedicated student of yoga, Sanskrit, and bhakti whose life reflects a harmonious blending of ancient wisdom and contemporary insight. As a 300-hour certified teacher based in Monroe, United States, he devotes himself to the study and practice of spiritual traditions while exploring ways to integrate them with the knowledge of modern science and technology. His work embodies a timeless pursuit of truth, balance, and spiritual awakening.

Early life and Sanskrit roots

Born into a family deeply rooted in Hindu spiritual traditions, Hari was immersed in sacred teachings from an early age. Both of his parents were fluent in Sanskrit, and his childhood was enriched by the sounds and meanings of scriptures in their original form. This early exposure nurtured a reverence for India’s spiritual heritage and inspired in him a lifelong respect for the transformative power of language, mantra, and devotion.

Awakening at Ananda Ashram

Hari’s path deepened at Ananda Ashram, a sanctuary for seekers of peace and self-realization. It was here that his spiritual awakening took root, guided by the ashram’s teachings and nourished by a community of inspiring practitioners. The experience at Ananda Ashram was both grounding and transformative, igniting a profound journey into self-discovery, devotion, and inner growth. He remains deeply grateful to the teachers and the disciples of Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, whose vision shaped Ananda Ashram into a living center of wisdom.

Guidance from Jivamukti founders

Among those who profoundly influenced Hari are Sharon Gannon and David Life, the visionary founders of Jivamukti Yoga. Their teachings—imbued with love, compassion, and respect for tradition—left an indelible mark on Hari’s spiritual evolution. Their guidance continues to inspire him to carry forward the Jivamukti lineage with authenticity and devotion.

Friendship and the path of bhakti

Hari’s friendship with the late Shyam Das was another defining chapter in his spiritual life. Through Shyam Das, he experienced a deeper immersion into bhakti, kirtan, and the philosophy of sat-chit-ānanda—being, consciousness, and bliss. This relationship expanded his understanding of devotional practice and helped him discover a joyful, grounded approach to spiritual happiness in everyday life.

Leadership and service

Today, Hari serves on the Jivamukti Global leadership team alongside Camilla Veen, Sharon Gannon, and David Life. In this role, he contributes to the continued growth and global presence of the Jivamukti tradition, helping to preserve its integrity while making its teachings accessible to new generations of practitioners around the world.

Continuing as a student

Beyond formal roles, Hari remains—above all—a student: curious, humble, and deeply committed to learning. He seeks to bridge the wisdom of ancient scriptures with the insights of contemporary science and technology, believing both can coexist to enrich the human experience. His journey reflects not only personal transformation but also a commitment to guiding others on their own paths toward awakening.
