A Day at the training in Costa Rica

4:45 – 6:15 AM — Morning Meditation
Begin with a quiet, guided centering to settle the mind and set your intention for the day. We move into gentle prāṇāyāma to wake up the breath and nervous system, followed by a short mantra or visualization practice. Optional sunrise walk or mindful journaling closes the session.
6:15 – 8:00 AM — Breakfast / Tea / Coffee
Enjoy a nourishing, plant-forward breakfast with fresh tropical fruit, grains, and protein options. Rehydrate, sip coffee or tea, and review your morning sequence notes. This is also a great window to stretch, journal, or check in with mentors.
8:00 – 11:30 AM — Training & Practice
Dynamic morning practice integrating Vinyasa/Hatha with pain-free alignment principles. We layer in AYAMA™ (Applied Yoga Anatomy + Muscle Activation) drills to build stability and functional strength. Expect technique breakdowns, prop variations, and clear cueing to deepen your understanding.
11:30 AM – 3:30 PM — Lunch + Free Time
Refuel with a wholesome buffet lunch (vegetarian/vegan friendly). Rest by the pool or beach, book a massage, or explore the grounds. Use part of this time for self-study—complete readings, anatomy cards, or journaling prompts to integrate the morning’s learning.
3:30 – 6:00 PM — Training & Practice
Afternoon sessions focus on teaching skills: sequencing, voice, assists, and inclusive language. You’ll rotate through peer-teaching labs with structured feedback and occasional specialty workshops (inversions, backbends, restorative, or hands-on techniques). Short philosophy or ethics modules round out the block.
6:30 – 7:30 PM — Dinner
Share a relaxed, community-style meal with fresh, local ingredients. This is a chance to connect with faculty and peers, ask questions, and celebrate the day’s wins. Light evening strolls or beach sunsets encouraged.
7:30 – 9:00 PM — Study or Free Time
Quiet study hall for assignments, sequencing homework, or small-group mentoring. If you’re resting, unwind with gentle stretching, breathwork, or reading. Lights-down energy supports recovery so you arrive fresh for the next morning.

Each year my daughter, granddaughter and I take a vacation together. The Blue Osa experience tops them all! We loved the beauty and serenity of the grounds, the yoga, the spa treatments, the pool, the sunrise walks on the beach. Combine all that with the excitement of zip lining, horseback riding, and hiking in the rainforest. The amazing staff felt like family. It was absolutely everything we wanted and much more!
