soma

Around the corner from Juice Ja Cafe, Soma may be the smallest raw food restaurant in Ubud; its snug digs pack a big punch. The menu is distinguishing, the raw options are heavenly, and the vibe is uber-friendly. Local proprietor, Johnny, embodies the social atmosphere; as he can often be found hanging out, talking to friends or jamming on his guitar – or if you’re really lucky, his didgeridoo.

Several dessert specials rotate frequently, and there is a small shop section in the place offering cacao products, cashews and other staples of any Balinese raw food pantry. This is the only place in town that I’ve found that will make you fresh coconut milk on the spot for takeaway.

They also make fresh cashew milk and you can purchase their exquisite salad dressings by the jar or bottle. On top of all that, Soma is the only place in town that offers shots of daikon; indulge at your own risk!

Our Raw Favorites:

  • Raw Pad Thai
  • Banana Crepes w/ mango and coconut cream
  • Calming Fennel Juice
  • Green Papaya Salad w/ sweet and sour tamarind dressing
