Located a short drive from Ubud center, Fivelelments is far enough from the busy area to make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Everything at the resort is carefully designed and thought through to provide guests with the most magical experience possible. From the warm service, soothing music, serene environment, scents, mouth-watering food to the spa treatments Fiveelements is truly a heaven on Earth.
Based on the "Chinese 5 elements" philosophy (water, fire, wood, air, earth) the resort is built around them in a very holistic manner. The architects managed to make the most of what Mother Nature offers in the lush tropical jungle, with a river going across the land. The main structure, beautifully made out of bamboo, is the restaurant where the culinary magic happens. The entire resort is cozy and easily walkable, with 2 spectacular yoga shalas in the middle. One could not imagine a more peaceful environment for practice.
The rooms, each in separate villas, are the perfect combination of simplicity and luxury. With an outside bathtub overlooking the river (perfect to relax before or after your message), they are all you need for a restful stay and a good night's sleep.
The service is impeccable, the staff is intuitive and thoughtful, we were very well taken care of as they made us feel at home. I could go on about how amazing the plant-based food was but the best description would be: nourishing and soulful.
Each dish was creative and surprising in its own way leaving you energized and pleasantly content. Favorites being the smoothie bowls in the morning and the set lunch and dinner menu. With such good food at Fivelements, even if you are not vegan you may feel like happily turning vegan for the rest of your life!
One of the highlights of our stay was the fire ceremony. One of the local Balinese men came and walked us through the ceremony, inviting us to participate in an offering as setting intentions that are meaningful to our lives.
Last but not least, the signature spa massage was truly blissful and relaxing. It made my stay nothing but rejuvenating and would recommend it to anyone looking for an ultimate Bali experience in the most beautiful surroundings.
