bungalow living café

Housed in, of course, a cute wooden bungalow – this welcoming café has been sweetening our coffee breaks in the Berawa area of Bali for some time now.

Charmingly incorporated into a homewares lifestyle shop, Bungalow is great for a light breakfast or lunch, but most of all it – is a calm heaven set away from the road in which lingering is not just accepted but encouraged. Patrons stay long with their books or laptops between friends coming and going for a sweet treat or juice and a chat. Resident poodle BB King is always up for a cuddle and the staff is friendly. Good music adds to this sensory experience and the Boho Shabby Chic look with a touch of Middle Eastern is homey and unique.

The menu is a mix between twists on Middle Eastern favorites – we like the quinoa tabouli, good ‘ol Australian pies, and a variety of sandwiches and salads. Bungalow is not exclusively vegetarian but there are plenty of veggie options, as well as some gluten-free alternatives, even in the sweets department. Fresh juice blends are aplenty and spiked with super foods.

You can tell there is a family behind this business, Australian-Balinese couple Giovanna and Donald, and that their passions are mirrored in the eclectic mix of objects showcased and food served.
