With all the harmful toxins in our enviroment, our largest organ – our skin – is pushed to its very limit. A daily skin care regime or even a weekly one is therefore really important to keep our skin vibrant. (even if the whole-heartedly believe that the energy within is what keeps you young!)

We suggest following our Water Magic series, originally curated and written by Mary Muryn, for recipes and techniques to keep hold of your skin’s elasticity and there is no reason why we cannot have beautiful skin well into our later years. A youthful glow has nothing to do with physical age and everything to do with the energy within. Mary Muryn’s Water Magic recipe for youthful skin is a long-term project. Make it part of your weekly beauty regime and your skin will always glow, regardless of age.

Many women maintain their beauty beyond seventy. Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Cleopatra are just a few famous women who maintained their youthful beauty well into their mature years, as did Helen of Troy, who at sixty looked twenty. Perhaps their secrets for youthful skin have to do with this ancient, but still extremely popular, oil bath.

• 4 drops sesame oil
• 3 drops avocado oil
• 2 drops almond oil
• (preferably use cold-pressed oils)

How to: Combining these oils ahead of time and keeping them in a well-sealed bottle at room temperature is a plus. This concoction has more than one use… when you’re ready for your bath pour in several drops. When you’d like a complexion enhancer, or even when you remove your make-up.

This combination is one of the most beautifying known. For extra pleasure, add your favorite essential oil while bathing – close your eyes and let yourself drift into loveliness.
