A collaboration between an English fashioner designer and an Australian DJ, this pretty tearoom & vintage bric-a-brac store, serves good coffee and excellent food in a relaxing atmosphere. Perch yourself on street front stool and watch the world go by or settle into the meditative back garden for quiet conversation.
Although Green Ginger may be small, what comes out of this tiny kitchen is quite surprising in freshness, presentation, and taste.
The food is modern Asian cuisine, ranging from Chinese dumplings and Singapore laksa to Japanese ramen, Thai red curry, green papaya salad and sticky rice pudding. In addition to a delicious lunch and dinner menu, Green Ginger also offers great breakfasts – think toasted sourdough with tomato, fetta and basil or crispy fried eggs with corn coriander fritters and chilli jam.
If your thirsty, try a refreshing fruit cooler , a fresh juice, a selection of delicious teas, or – most importantly for the locals – some real coffee: espresso, macchiato, latte, cappucino… and the often hard to find chai tea!The Balinese women who run the show behind the counter are all super friendly and proud to serve such food.
