You wouldn’t expect kindergartens to come with a beautiful modern café next to them but even that’s possible in magical Bali. A lush green arch welcomes you into Sprout and is a good indication of what’s ahead – fresh nutritious food in a well-curated environment. From the door handles to the coffee mugs, a clean and crisp esthetic permeates every detail of this café.

Guests linger on their computers at the outdoor terrace and in the delightfully cool (in temperature and style) and well-lit indoors space. There’s even a play corner for their young patrons – surely a nod to its neighbor.

As for the food, it’s very good, with many vegetarian and gluten-free options for Bali, The breakfast menu is large and covers everything from delicious granola with greek yogurt and passion fruit compote (MUCH much better than what you make at home) to hearty omelettes filled with fresh produce from the kindergarten’s vegetable patch and accompanied with their own very good bread. Lunch offers tasty and fresh salads that you can mix and match as well as generous sandwiches. Our favorite is the activated Puy lentil with helium cheese.

Sprout takes their coffee seriously and a premium Bali roasted blend. Lots of delicious sweet goodies can accompany your coffee break, we love their very big cookies and the banana chocolate bread.

A cool thing about this café that sets it apart from its peers is that they use all their organic waste in the kindergarten’s compost as well as sorting and recycling all of the metal, glass and paper materials.
