fivelements puri ahimsa retreat

Have you ever been speechless and fully overwhelmed by the beauty of a place?

This is what happened when we arrived at Fivelements Puri Ahimsa Retreat. This eco-conscious wellness village is nestled near Ubud in a lush environment of bamboo, palms, and flowers. Peaceful and serene, this is tranquility at its finest.

As the name suggests, all elements are present here: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. Fivelements is the perfect place to tune into your physical, emotional and spiritual levels and allow the organic healing process to naturally unfold.

The staff is highly professional, helpful and friendly. They welcomed us with a smile, knew our names, and guided us gently through our personalized wellness program.

Our healing journey started with a Water Blessing. This is a great way to experience this key element of Balinese ceremonies. Sitting in meditation in the sacred space with a healer, we chanted mantras together to bless and purify the water. Afterward, the holy flower shower, in which we were soaked in blessings, was an unforgettable experience.

The next treatment was the Super Food Facial, which included a face, décolleté and neck massage – by far the best treatment we have ever had in our life! As the therapists are also considered healers, they really connect with you by asking your preferences, start with meditation, and end with blessings.

Next, we had a lip scrub with honey and palm sugar, a mask of spirulina and seaweed, and a body scrub of blended Balinese salt crystals with virgin coconut oil.  Only the freshest organic ingredients are used that are taken straight from the garden to provide a nutrient-rich living food for your skin.

We completed our experience with a ginger juice on the balcony near the river. We felt radiantly refreshed by our healthy glowing skin.

For the ultimate retreat experience, book an overnight stay at this magical place, which would also make a wonderful spot for a honeymoon. The bungalows have a huge outdoor bathtub that overlooks the Ayung River, a king size canopy bed, and a lovely outdoor shower surrounded by plants and flowers.

There are three beautiful bamboo yoga “bale” (pavilion) on site. Great for a yoga retreat, you can also ask for a private class or just do your own practice.

We have already reviewed Sakti restaurant, and the amazingness of this food cannot be stressed enough. All meals are plant-based, mostly raw, and nicely decorated with edible flowers and fresh herbs. We loved the strawberry gazpacho, the fresh juices with a rice stalk straw, and the coconut chia porridge with local tulsi seeds. You can sit in the bamboo dining room, but we prefer dining near the beautiful pool.

From a chocolate almond scrub to a coconut milk bathing ritual, there is so much to do at Fivelements. We will be back soon!
