Farm yoga is a unique, charming new addition to the Byron Bay community – part of The Farms hub of micro businesses working towards their common mission to Grow. Feed. Educate.

Why is a yoga studio in the middle of a farm? In the words of co-founder Emma Lane I really want a place on The Farm where people arent just nourishing their body with food, but also their mind and soul. Space is so important in yoga and here we have the earth, the soil, to ground us”.

The studio is led by Bess Prescott, a Sydney transplant filled with passion and integrity as well as a  whole lotta yoga skills. Shes put together an eclectic team with a common thread – absolute love for their practice and yoga offerings. Passion comes across everyone you talk to at Farm Yoga – all very excited for the privilege to practice in such beautiful natural surroundings and add their part to this growing community. A commitment to combining the often overlooked aspects of yoga, like mantra, meditation and philosophy, to the more familiar asana practice – is what makes this studio stand out from the myriad of yoga schools in the area.

Farm Yoga has an expanding schedule of classes, mostly in the mornings. Styles vary from Embodied Flow, Hatha Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga and Conditioning Flow – there is no set formula and each teacher infuses their classes with their own special touch. All are set inside a restored traditional Queenslander house with views onto the surrounding fields and trees – a treat for the eyes.  In addition to their regular schedule, Farm Yoga hosts frequent workshops with traveling teachers as well as special events like Full Moon circles, candlelight evening classes and yoga DJ nights.

On top of the inspiring teachers and fun classes, the best part about Farm Yoga is to be able to craft an experience that goes beyond the mat, taking advantage of The Farms services before and after class!
