| Overwhelming is the only word that can accurately describe the impact of seeing a community of over 2,500 people gathering together for one night to celebrate yoga, health, sustainable living and mindfulness while at the same time raising funds to help bring yoga into the lives of children. The Yogi Times second anniversary party, benefiting the Yoga for the Next Generation Festival, illustrated the abundance of blessings that have come into my life since Yogi Times began. The huge success of the party and the generosity of the whole yoga community has brought the YFNG festival one giant step closer to becoming a reality in 2005 (to find out more about YFNG and see how you can participate, visit yogitimes.com). Above all, I would like to personally thank all of our sponsors, advertisers, guests, friends and the sixty volunteers, without whom, the party, and in fact, Yogi Times, could never have happened. Now that we have taken the time to celebrate our past achievements, we are looking to the future of Yogi Times. Because we know from experience what it takes to leave the corporate world behind and enter the uncharted territory of the yoga industry, we want to provide a resource for all of the people and businesses who are promoting yoga, wellness and consciousness, and also to all of the yogis who are entertaining thoughts of starting their own yoga venture. To this end, I would like to officially introduce Yogi Times Business. Yogi Times Business, a quarterly trade magazine offered by subscription, will debut in October 2004 to address the needs of teachers, studio and yoga-related business owners, as well as anyone else working in industries related to yoga. The magazine will offer a supportive professional forum containing indispensable information, educational columns, success stories and valuable resources to create and maintain a successful business. To find out more about how to receive Yogi Times Business visit yogitimes.com. For our September readers, we have prepared this issue with the intention of providing practical, inspiring information and resources to dedicated practitioners who are interested in focusing their passion for yoga on becoming teachers. We have assembled a variety of viewpoints and experiences from many of the most prominent teachers in the yoga community. They share their views on what it means to be a teacher in todays society, how to cultivate the qualities of a good teacher within yourself and tips to avoid the many bumps along the road to a successful teaching career. I trust you will enjoy and benefit from their wisdom. Namaste, Namaste,
