WHAT'S NEW
 Dear Friends,
For many people who
are seeking authentic, holistic
lifestyles, the
fashion world and its atmosphere can often appear diametrically
opposed. However, as we discovered in putting together our second
annual eco-fashion issue, fashion can also be a powerful forum for
expressing our individuality and reflecting our values. There is a
growing number of new
and inspired designers and companies that are
making a splash in the world of fashion with cutting edge designs that
incorporate environmentally and socially responsible production
methods. Organic fabrics, non-toxic dyes and fair trade business
practices are becoming increasingly common and the mainstream market is
taking notice.
In this month’s issue of Yogi Times, we
decided to go with a different cover for LA and SF as both of them
seemed very striking to us. You’ll find dozens of
resources for inspired looks that are consistent with the conscious
lifestyle we want to promote. Now, it’s possible to clothe
our bodies in inspired design that represents harmony with our
environment and a conscious decision to show the world that we are
making a difference.

Sincerely,
Martin Hughes, Managing Editor

Eco-Fabulous Fashion
What's in Your
Drawers?
By Kyle Roderick
There’s no question that Americans love fashion. From haute
couture to the latest yoga shorts, we are eager to whip out the credit
card for a chance to own the coolest new threads, including that
all-important figure-flattering cotton tee. But did you know that it
takes five ounces of toxic pesticides and chemical fertilizers to grow
the cotton in that one tee shirt? Now, check and see whether you are
wearing a cotton thong, boxers or briefs. If you are indeed
cotton-clad, this means that your precious privates are encased in
fibers grown with industrial pesticides and fertilizers that pollute
the air, our water supply and deaden farm soil! If
you’re freaking out, relax, because the solution is in
stores right now. Read

Achieving Results
Financial Habits of
Highly Successful Yogis
By
Vanessa Summers
Highly successful yogis, whom I define as not just having numbers in
the bank that make them financially free, meaning that their current
passive income exceeds their current monthly expenses, but also as
people who have worked to establish a wealthy & successful
lifestyle that balances their health, spirituality, personal &
professional relationships, and family. These yogis may spend 20% of
each day managing their money, talking to their accountant, banker,
investment advisor, or even yogi entrepreneur colleague about a new
business deal. Then they go to a yoga class, get a massage, hang out
with their family, travel, and probably do several types of
philanthropic work in their community. Read
