WHAT'S NEW
Dear friends,
We have had a blast putting together our July/August Special 5th Year
Anniversary issue. It’s hard to believe five years
have
passed since the first 8 page issue of Yogi Times was distributed in
our community. How many of you remember it? This
month’s
issue is a reflection on where this community has
been
and where we are headed. Some of the top yoga teachers across
California have joined us in celebration by getting in front of the
camera and letting us uncover their “alter egos.”
It was
one of the most enjoyable photo shoots we’ve ever done!
At this turning point of a half decade, we are thrilled to announce two
new
features we are launching to capture the vibrancy of our
community.
First check out our first ever YT BLOG!
This blog is for you to share your thoughts and comments to several of
our featured Yogi Times
writer’s blog postings! The YT BLOG will
be a resource where people can learn what the community is
thinking. So,speak your mind! The second BIG news is
the launch YT•TV, our online web based TV
“station” that has been
on our
mind for several years. We thought, what better way to
celebrate
than getting the YT•TV first show up and
running?
We have been working with a great production company called WSR Creative
in filming and editing our show. As a YT Insider reader, you
are
the first to know about it....! Keep your eyes out for the
first
episode...coming soon at yogitimes.com!
Finally, we wanted to thank everyone for your time in filling out our
reader survey. Your feedback and suggestions were
incredible. Prizes will be sent to winners over the next two
weeks and for those of you that left your email address,
your free week at Yoga Works gift certificate will be emailed to you as
well.
Enjoy this month’s issue and continue to stay in touch.
Namaste,
Martin Hughes, Managing Editor
Sophie Parienti, Editor In Chief
Yogi Times Magazines
P.S. We love
receiving your
letters and hearing your feedback.

The Birth of a Community
by Martin Hughes
A few years ago, I was sitting on the beach in Santa Monica, bragging
to my partner about all of the ideas that were constantly swirling
about in my head and all of the magnificent things I was going
to do some day. While I was going on about my future glory, I noticed
that the whole time I was talking, his eyes were fixed forward, out
toward the... Read
